This is a great way to use up left over steak. When the week rolls around and you don’t feel like cooking too much, just get out the veggies and slice up that left over steak from the weekend barbecue.
**Depending on the amount of steak left over, you can double the recipe for two!
Left over steak, thinly sliced
1/2 onion, sliced
5 mushroom, sliced
1/4 green pepper, sliced thin
2 tbsp grated carrot
1/2 toasted sesame hamburger bun ( open faced style )
5 cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup grated mozzerella cheese
** Use the amount of spice desired
Pinch Garlic all-spice
Pinch Black pepper
1 tbsp Brown gravy powder
2 tbsp virgin oil
2 tbsp water
Splash red wine (optional )
Slice the left over steak, thinly and set aside. In a skillet saute the onions, green pepper and mushrooms for a few minutes before adding the steak. Add the gravy mix and water, optional splash of red wine and cook for a few minutes till sauce thickens. Add the the carrot and tomatoes and heat thoroughly. Under the broiler toast the bun and then top with the steak mixture.
Top with grated mozzerella cheese and brown under the broiler till the cheese is melted. Then top again with parmesan and broiler till browned.
A quick and easy dish for left over steak. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with horseradish.
